Welcome to The Huntington Observer. As you can tell by the RSS Feeds, we believe in the freedom and liberty of the individual to live their own lives, with as little outside interference as possible. We believe in the inherant goodness of humanity and each of its citizens, until proven otherwise, on an individual basis.

It's been said that liberalism is like your mother, wiping your nose and always trying to take away the pain, while conservatism is like your father, always telling you what to do. Well, there's a third viewpoint called libertarianism that treats people like consenting, thinking, reasonable adults, at least until the person's behavior gives us reason to believe otherwise.

We will attempt to report, analyze and provide intelligent commentary on the news around the Huntington West Virginia region from this standpoint. Our slant will upset liberals, conservatives, and even moderates at times but if ideology is put aside and issues are looked at from the perspective of individual rights, often the truth shines through.
